  Normal outside but marvelous view inside! The highest and largest cathedral in the south hemisphere. Just go inside and feel the sacredness. I’m an atheist but I still have a strong feeling of the calling from god in this cathedral.

  A beautiful Church from which some of the most homophobic slurs have been voiced. Its infamy extends to the threats it voiced on public record n August 2017 to sack gay catholic employees (including teachers) if the yes vote plebsicite for gay marriage were to win. Denis Hart is the priest here who replaced the equally notorious George Pell. Mr Hart lives there but tourists should beware of knocking on his door. I was impressed by Mr Hart's interview on the ABC Lateline program 14th November 2013, when he admitted he had told a woman who knocked on his door to "go to hell b**ch", then immediately adding that he always followed the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Its an amazing building.

  I guess for Australia this is pretty impressive :-) I liked it from the outside better than from the inside. Here you can take photos for free from the innside.

  More subdued and “serious” in atmosphere than St. Paul’s. The fountains and statues outside are worth a look.

  Absolute amazing church. So beautiful and so well maintained.
